The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 25 February 2025, approved the proposal for the appointment of five Advocates, as Judges of the High Court at Calcutta. As of 27 February 2025, the Supreme Court Collegium currently consists of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justices B.R. Gavai, Surya Kant, A.S. Oka, and Vikram Nath. The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting recommended the appointment of the following Advocates as Judges in the High Court of Calcutta:
- Smt. Smita Das De,
- Shri Reetobroto Kumar Mitra,
- Shri Md. Talay Masood Siddiqui,
- Shri Krishnaraj Thaker, and
- Shri Om Narayan Rai
